COIN YOUR LOGO FOR CANCER

The ground was almost filled by tents of various organisations of London. The music beats that played on the stage added to the excitement of everyone. As there was no sun to be seen, everyone had a slight disappointment and feared precipitation. Luckily, the clouds held the humidity till the end of the event. COIN YOUR LOGO FOR CANCER is a fundraiser for the Cancer Society of London. The event reaches out to members of London’s local business community. Last year, the event was successful in having raised $9,039. It is also an opportunity for companies to showcase themselves in public. The requirement is simple, each team uses sidewalk chalk to re-create their company logo on the outdoor lot.

Prizes are for three categories- creative logo, well-dressed group and the team which raised the most money. People enjoyed playing games as if they were on a picnic. It was much like a day off from work but still on work. Even the hosts were so entertaining that we didn’t even feel the stress of competition. Hutton House was represented by Mallic, facilitator of GPS (Goal, Preparation, Skills youth employment program) and a few of his participants. It is Mallic's second time participating in COIN YOUR LOGO FOR CANCER. “It is more about extending your network and connecting with new people of the community,” he said while watching the participants who were busy making the logo.

More than a competition the whole event was peaceful and fun with the harmony which each company shared with each other. There was a feeling of togetherness by the Londoners I saw as they all pitched in for a valuable cause, raising money to fight cancer.
The tagline of the event #Bethechange inculcates all the messages it wants to share with society. Also, it nurtures a beautiful relationship between the organisations around
London. COIN YOUR LOGO FOR CANCER is one of the most precious events that I have attended.
